A mix of violence, sorrow, love, humor and a little bit of happiness as fluent as all happiness should be. Joe Hisaishi as always did an exellent jop, putting his sound onto Kitano's masterpiece.

 Dead Man is the soundtrack to the 1995 Jim Jarmusch western-themed film of the same name starring Gary Farmer and Johnny Depp as William Blake. Neil Young recorded the soundtrack by improvising (mostly on his electric guitar, with some acoustic guitar, piano and organ) as he watched the newly edited film alone in a recording studio. The soundtrack album consists of seven instrumental tracks by Young, with dialog excerpts from the film and Johnny Depp reading the poetry of William Blake interspersed between the music. The version of the main theme used over the film's beginning and end credits is not included, but was released as a promo single.

On December 21, 2005, an image album for Gunslinger Girl called poca felicità was released by Marvelous Entertainment. It contains various songs for each of the girls (sung by their respective Japanese seiyuu), as well as an instrumental for Pinocchio and extra songs by Josefa, and two other instrumentals. Revo of Sound Horizon wrote all the music and lyrics for the album. The cover art was drawn by Yu Aida.

There were two soundtracks released for the film, one with various popular music, the other with an actual film score. Four songs that are heard in the film are not included on the soundtrack. "Map of the Problematique" by Muse and "Hoppípolla" by Sigur Rós were previously featured in TV spots and trailers but were not used in the film. The film's score was composed by John Tavener and includes work by other classical composers, such as George Frideric Handel, Gustav Mahler, and Krzysztof Penderecki. British pop music dominates the first half of the film, including a cover version of The Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday", King Crimson's "The Court of the Crimson King", Radiohead's "Life in a Glasshouse", and John Lennon's "Bring on the Lucie (Freeda People)".

Funny and unusual version of Homer's "Odyssey" sounding like country rock! Maybe original is much more of an action and adventure and thrill but this musical comedy has its own unforgettable style) My advise - take a closer look at featured artists - James Carter, Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley.

Just another masterpiece I would say!! This is for the first time I saw something that is really cyber-pank, the one we know thanks to Gibson. Not that the master contributed to this very animation film himself, but his presence is evident. I will never tell you the plot or the storyline. That is purely because I do not what to spoil your appetite! Watch and have your own oppinion.

As for music - that is just perfect! To my mind sountrack really matters here, as it is quite an uneasy task to have music in a movie which genre can be described as a mixture of thriller, sci-fi, drama and bone-crushing action!
